  • Context

    Dog owners have less and less time to spend with their pets; it's harder for them to go for a walk when they come home late at night, when they are tired and it is cold outside. After having crossed the city with the subway to go home, it's even more difficult to think that you'll have to go out again to walk your dog, especially since your group of friends is waiting for you to have a drink after work. In some cities in the future, inhabitants will be surrounded by connected objects, and the drones already used in the future for the delivery of mail, parcels, food orders can also walk your dog safely in the smart city of tomorrow. Your dog will feel better, and less lonely; he can walk around in peace and stretch his legs. This walk is essential for his physical and mental balance; your dog will be healthier (having exercised) and in a better mood (not having been locked in an apartment/a house all day long).

    Target

    We want to design this product to market it in France for the city inhabitants of the future. The persona would be a dynamic executive who is often on the move or working late in the evening and does not have time to walk his dog. The framework would rather be a person between 30 and 40 years old, having a good salary, being someone who likes new technologies, single, living in a big city and having a very busy job with late hours. The dog would be rather small or even medium in size, well educated and it will not be a puppy (puppies aren't used to walks to behave well with a drone).

    Our service

    We offer a drone with a 30-minute autonomy range that would safely walk your dog down the street. The dog's owner simply sets the desired time, day and route on his phone and the drone will start automatically. Thanks to a camera and a microphone, the owner can see, hear and talk to his dog. The drone performs the programmed route thanks to the GPS of the phone by going to the dog's rhythm and respecting its safety on the street. The drone is equipped with a protection that allows the dog to be taken out even in rainy weather without damaging the equipment. The drone can also walk your dog when it is dark during winter evenings because it is equipped with a light located on the drone's front. This drone is resistant to temperature variations, it can operate outside with an ambient temperature ranging from 0 degrees to 30 degrees.

    Technical details

    The different tools we are going to use

    Our service is based on a software connecting our application to our drones. Therefore, the GPS and driving system of the drones are connected to the app so that the destinations can be dowloaded, the routes calculated. Our drones are equipped with the latest technologies in terms of obstacle recognition and avoidance.

    The app will also be linked to our database and have access to users' profiles in order to be able to propose the latest walk they done but, more importantly, to save datas such as the kilometres their dog travels every day. Also, the performance of the drone is always enhancing its performance with the help of Artificial Intelligence. At the beginning, the more walks are performed, the more the drone will be able to recognize quickly the obstacle. Then, everytime the drone goes out the app will record datas to be able to propose new itinerary to improve the experience of your dog. Furthermore, if you do not want to go in a specific street, the drone will avoid the street to ensure your will and the security of your dog details thanks to the app.
